Greek language certificate examinations based on four levels are held annually. The certificates are issued by KEG (Greek Language Centre) in Thessaloniki in Greece, under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs.

Examinations for each level involve revision and assessment of the examinee’s four skills:

  1. Listening and understanding
  2. Reading and understanding
  3. Written paper (essay)
  4. An interview, commenting on a daily topic, behavior in a certain situation, role-plays.

The written work papers are assessed by native Greek examiners based at KEG, the oral exams are recorded.

Successfully passed examinees obtain a formal Greek certificate to certify the level of their Greek language command, which is valid for life worldwide.
