The exam for a level according to the European Language Framework for individual candidates is conducted on site at DLTCE on a computer via an internet connection to our platform.
You must be able to type using a Bulgarian keyboard: BDS or phonetic. On paper, only the A2 exam for citizenship or, if necessary, the exam for a candidate with special needs is conducted.
In order to register for the exam, the candidate must contact the administrative office at the address desk@deo.uni-sofia.bg, from where they will receive a registration form.
The candidate pays an exam fee in the amount of 265 euros. The fee may be paid by bank transfer. When paying by bank transfer, a scanned copy of the payment document is sent to desk@deo.uni-sofia.bg. The fee is not refunded in case of a failed exam. In case of a failed exam at DLTCE, you have the right to retake the exam against payment after a minimum of 3 months from the date of the exam.
The candidate registers independently with their own username and password on the website bg.e-learning-deo.uni-sofia.bg (if they do not already have a registration). This is the place where the exam is conducted and where preparation for it can be done, so make sure you remember well the email address, username, and password for access.
All candidates receive access to the modules “Training materials in Bulgarian as a foreign language” and “Practice exercises in Bulgarian as a foreign language – levels A1–C2”, as well as to a free sample test for the desired level.

– National Science Program “DEVELOPMENT AND CONSOLIDATION OF BULGARIAN STUDIES ABROAD”
The candidate is required to take the diagnostic tests to determine their level. The diagnostic tests are without a password and are free of charge.
In addition to the free sample test, there are also paid sample tests. For one sample test for a level, the fee is 10 euros. Upon payment of this fee, a payment document must be sent to the email desk@deo.uni-sofia.bg, indicating for which level you wish to take a sample test, in order to be granted access.
An exam date is scheduled within 10 working days from the date on which you have sent us the payment document for the paid exam fee and the data from your registration on the DLTCE website. Without a response received from the academic department, the candidate has no right to take the exam.
On the day of the exam, you must also bring a passport-size photograph, which you leave with the academic department, room 135.
